     Mount Rinjani is located in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. This mountain is the second highest mountain in Indonesia with an altitude of 3,726 masl and is a favorite mountain for climbers because of its natural beauty. Mount Rinjani is a mountain which is included in the Mount Rinjani National Park area which has an area of ​​around 41,330 ha and will be proposed to add 76,000 ha to the west and east.

     With the highest point on Mount Rinjani (3,726 masl) it dominates us to see most of the sights of northern Lombok. To the west of the cone of Mount Rinjani there is a caldera which has an area of ​​3,500 m 4,800 m, extending east and west. On this caldera there is a lake with an area of ​​11,000,000 square meters and 230 m deep, the water flowing from this lake forms a very beautiful waterfall through a steep gorge. In this lake there are a lot of fish, Mas and Mujair, which make it used for fishing.

     To the east of the Caldera there is Gunung Baru (Mount Barujari) which has a crater measuring 170 m X 200 m with an altitude of 2296-2376 masl. This small mountain last erupted on October 25, 2015 and November 3, 2015, after it erupted in May 2009 and 2004. The eruption in 2004 did not take casualties, but in the 2009 eruption it was recorded that 30 people were indirectly killed due to flooding bandang on the kokok (river) is dead due to the pressure of lava into the river Previously, Mount Barujari had erupted in 1944, 1966 and 1994.
     Mount Rinjani is also an active volcanic mountain, although the summit of Mount Rinjani is still a favorite for most adventurers and nature lovers. This is evidenced by the community's enthusiasm for the entire archipelago even from abroad in a considerable climb and each year has experienced a significant increase. Large scale climbs were carried out in July to August and in mid-August most of them were dominated by students and students from all over Indonesia to celebrate the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day at the peak of Mount Rinjani.
